The Chapter of Improvement

All Princes, particularly those who are about to take office or who are currently in office, are encouraged to attend the regular meetings of the Chapter of Improvement. The meetings are welcoming and friendly with the aim of enabling Princes to reach a good standard of ritual and floor work. Under the Risings, at the end of each regular meeting, the Princes are requested to volunteer for an office of choice at the next regular meeting or subsequent meetings. If requested, the Second Point can be split for two Princes to participate. Every Prince is given the opportunity to take part. Each ritual Point is overseen by a designated Preceptor, who will give the necessary time to advise and assist each Officer and, if necessary, to prompt as ritual books are not allowed to be open during the meeting. From experience, the Preceptors see improvement in many Princes, who keep a watchful eye on proceedings. The Preceptors are always available at the meetings to answer any queries relating to the ritual of the Order.

Princes, who are unable to attend except on an ad-hoc basis, are also welcome and the Preceptors will endeavour to do their best to assist them.

Please Note:

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chapter of Improvement continued to meet on a virtual monthly basis. This proved to be popular with the Princes and, as a consequence, it was decided to seek permission to continue this on a regular basis.

After receiving permission from the Supreme Council, the Chapter of Improvement is now pleased to offer four virtual meetings per year. However, these virtual meetings will only go ahead if a minimum of twenty Princes make contact with the Recorder (details available on the Committee page of this website) and express their wishes to either undertake a particular office role or receive helpful guidance. Due to the nature of a virtual meeting, the Preceptors will nominate an individual to act as the Director of Ceremonies, who will read aloud the rubric in advance of the work to be delivered by the Princes. Meetings will take place in January, April, July and October each year. The Recorder will issue instructions for joining the virtual meetings slightly ahead of the actual meeting.

Our mission is to encourage and assist members with their Rose Croix ritual
